DEFINITIONS

WEBINAR
A "webinar" is a lecture or interactive workshop conducted over the internet. Participants see the powerpoint slides on the screen and have the option of communicating with the presenter either by talking or by text.
TELE-CLASS
A "tele-class" is an interactive class without audio-visual aids conducted as a conference call.

PRE-RECORDED/INTERACTIVE SESSION
In a pre-recorded/interactive workshop, participants are given access to a full-length, pre-recorded video of the presentation they can view any time during the week preceding the webinar. The presenter is available for follow-up questions and answers at the scheduled webinar time.

Advantages of a pre-recorded presentation:

  • Participants can view the presentation at a time that is convenient to them.
  • Participants can stop, pause, and replay the presentation.
  • Presentations given to a live audience usually have more energy than those given to a video camera.
  • Participants have time to formulate questions.
